Finishing Skills Class: Squaring Blocks, Adding Borders & Machine Binding

In this class, you’ll learn how to:

• Square up quilt blocks so your seams match and your quilt lays flat
• Measure and cut borders correctly to prevent waves, ripples, or stretching
• Attach borders cleanly with precise alignment
• Prepare, attach, and finish binding by machine — fast, durable, and perfect for everyday quilts

This class is relaxed, supportive, and full of practical tips to help you polish your quilting skills.

What to Bring (Optional):

You’re welcome to bring supplies if you’d like to practice along, but it is not required.
Optional items include:
Quilt blocks to practice squaring
• Unfinished quilt top ready to add borders
• Border fabric
• A quilt top ready for binding
• Binding fabric
• Sewing machine & basic sewing supplies (rotary, cutting mat, pressing supplies)

You do not have to bring anything. You may simply come, watch Jessi demonstrate each step, take notes, and learn!

Lunch is provided.

By the end of the day, you’ll feel confident and capable in the finishing steps that turn your quilt from “almost done” to beautifully complete. Join us for a day of learning, sewing, and community.
